Born White Plains, New York, Kyle currently resides in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, New York, Kyle Lee's passion for creating art began at a young age. He surrounded himself with creativity and was inspired to express himself through various mediums such as Painting, Drawing, Photography and some moments of Voice Acting.
Today, he creates voluptuous ceramic vessels, vases, well-turned cups and tableware that provide the
canvas for his unique hand painting and surface treatments.
In the past five years, Kyle's ceramic career has taken him to new heights, with his work being featured in publications, galleries and exhibitions nationally and internationally. His bold use of color, free handed brushwork, color blocking and resist techniques have become synonymous with his signature style and has gained a loyal following of art enthusiasts.
In addition to his success in the traditional art world, Kyle has been commissioned by several brands to create eye-catching graphics and designs on his ceramic pieces. His versatile nature and willingness to experiment with different mediums have allowed him to continuously push the boundaries of his creativity.
Aside from his artistic pursuits, Kyle is also passionate about using his platform to give back to the community. He has partnered with various organizations to use his art as a means of raising awareness and funds for important social issues.
With numerous accolades and a growing fan base, Kyle Lee continues to evolve as an artist, constantly seeking new challenges and inspirations. His work has been described as thought-provoking, captivating, and emotionally charged, cementing his place as one of the most exciting contemporary artists of our time.
Kyle’s practice has included teaching over the years at Educational Alliance Art School in Manhattan and currently at GasworksNYC in Brooklyn
Kyle has studied ceramics in multiple studios throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY and has exhibited in solo and group gallery exhibitions in New York City and abroad. His work can also be found in private collections throughout the United States as well as in London, France, and China.
Over his 20 years as a ceramicist, Kyle has developed his unique style of ceramic art incorporating traditional shapes with a colorful and abstract sense of design and glaze application utilizing wax and vinyl resist color-blocking techniques .
Kyle is a founding member of BKLYN CLAY, a contributor to the Public Ceramics Non Profit and is newly seated on the Board of Directors for Studio Potter. He is currently partnered and creating work for West Elm and other retail and museum design shops.
